The six-part promotional series featured training-themed lessons from Merab Dvalishvili before his unsuccessful bid to reclaim the bantamweight title from Petr Yan.

Stake and UFC fighter Merab Dvalishvili released a six-part promotional campaign, The Merab Method, ahead of his bantamweight title challenge against Petr Yan at UFC 333.
The campaign extended Stake’s existing global ambassador partnership with Dvalishvili. Announced before the October 24 event, it adopted a mockumentary format, combining humour with footage centred on the Georgian fighter’s preparations and competitive mindset.
The videos were presented as individual lessons covering recovery, training days, nutrition, mental resilience and cardio. The sixth instalment was titled “How to Beat Petr Yan,” directly connecting the series to Dvalishvili’s upcoming opponent.
The creative approach drew on Dvalishvili’s “The Machine” nickname and reputation for stamina. Rather than relying solely on conventional training footage, the campaign framed his routines and personality as a method for becoming a UFC champion.
Stake’s announcement described the production as a behind-the-scenes look at his training regime and six tips for winning a world title. The campaign formed part of the operator’s promotion around the event, with Dvalishvili appearing in his established role as a brand ambassador.
The fight ultimately ended in defeat for the campaign’s protagonist. Yan retained his bantamweight championship by unanimous decision in the co-main event at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. All three judges scored the five-round contest 48-47 in his favour.
According to UFC’s official recap, Dvalishvili applied sustained pressure early, forcing Yan to defend repeated takedown attempts. Yan found greater success with his striking from the third round and finished strongly to secure the decision.
The result left the final lesson’s promise unfulfilled: Dvalishvili’s promotional guide to beating Yan preceded another successful title defence by his opponent.
